The start of race week at Jerez has seen no less than three MotoGP rider signings for 2021, with Pol Espargaro confirmed alongside reigning MotoGP champion Marc Marquez at Repsol Honda, Marc's younger brother Alex Marquez moving to LCR, plus a new deal for Franco Morbidelli at Petronas Yamaha.

HRC confirmed that Crutchlow will be the rider making way for Alex at LCR. The Englishman is rumoured to be in talks with Aprilia, which is awaiting the outcome of Iannone's appeal against a doping suspension.

Meanwhile, despite rumours that a Valentino Rossi announcement is imminent, Morbidelli who was named as the Sepang team's first rider signing of the 2021 season.

Yamaha announced that its 2021 factory team line-up would feature Morbidelli's current team-mate Fabio Quartararo and Maverick Vinales back in January, while offering a factory-specification bike to Rossi at Petronas if he decides to continue.

Joining Morbidelli in staying put next season will be Suzuki riders Alex Rins and Joan Mir, Aprilia's Aleix Espargaro and KTM riders Brad Binder and Iker Lecuona.

Jack Miller (Ducati) and Miguel Oliveira (KTM) will remains with the same manufacturer but move from the satellite to factory team, while Danilo Petrucci switches from Ducati to Tech3 KTM to make room for Miller. Dovizioso's Ducati future is still to be decided amid rumours of stalled negotiations.

Although not yet official, an agreement is understood to have been reached to place Moto2 star Jorge Martin at Pramac Ducati next year.

Avintia Ducati's Tito Rabat is the other rider with a seat confirmed beyond the end of 2020.
